I started Soul Dog last year to talk about my pack of dogs helping me through grief. In particular my service dog Oliver. Over time I realized what I needed to do. Currently I run a human behavior center – No Limits Behavioral Solutions – which also has various service dogs and therapy dogs that attend. I love merging my love of dogs and kids. Then I realized I wanted to do more.
And so, No Limits Canine Learning Center was born! I have officially begun working on building a Canine Learning Center to help both animal shelters and owners with their dogs. Currently we are working on building an enrichment program at our local shelter and taking on a limited amount of pet owners and their dogs and helping owners train their service dogs, as well as doing AKC evaluations. I am currently getting my certifications and my head trainer is shortly getting her CPDT-KA as well as additional certifications. We are a positive reinforcement training center, just as I am with my human center.
Since my son’s death, I have struggled, as you all know, and while I love love love my work with children and adults, my soul is healing with the work with dogs. I knew I wanted to do more and so here we are! I will likely be posting both about my grief and my training work!
Thank you all for listening and supporting both my dog journey and my grief journey and the ways in which they are intertwined.
